Modern day politics is full of ‘lies’ or the ‘incorrect meaning of truth’. People have a very short-term memory. Individuals may have a longer-term memory but not the group of individuals. The advantage of this short-term memory and ‘lies’ or ‘incorrect meaning of truth’ together forms ‘Propaganda’. In Politics, importance of Propaganda is very high. Politicians or groups make the world believe what they want people to believe. This way the whole world divides into three groups, always. One group is against, one is for or supports and third group is neutral.
1) Definition –
Propaganda is creating false narrative with the help of people’s short memory and lies or untruthfulness about facts.
2) Behavior –
It is difficult to say the groups in Favour of or against have short term or long-term memory. But it is easy to say that of all neutral people many have the long-term memory. If they had short term memory, they would have joined one of the other two groups. Also, neutral people do not fall for propaganda.
3) Importance / reasons/objective behind propaganda –
Propaganda is important in politics because it helps create illusion, imagination, ‘maya’ (forcing to believe in such things that barely exists), fake belief, rage, fights, unrest, instability, threat, sympathy, sometimes love, vote banking, support, leadership position and so much more.
Building lobby is one of the biggest advantages of creating propaganda. This helps unite and fight on any topic. Now-a-days, except in few countries, there is democracy. At least for namesake, there is democracy. You can only win in democracy, when you have support of masses. You can bring artificial support from different political parties which have got support of masses already. When you want to win heart of masses, propaganda works well.
Example, in Pakistan, most of the elections are won on the basis of terror comments. The leader who speaks the most against India, tries to build human rights propaganda in India, especially in Kashmir region, the chance of that leader to win election are high.
Another example, In India, the leader who speaks most about welfare of poor people, subsidies on daily consumables including petroleum gas cylinder, free cash for people below poverty, viral communal comments; helped win the election till 2013. In 2014, building narrative of the loot congress government did through corruptions, hawala, money laundering etc. helped them win the elections for 2 consecutive terms.
4) Examples of Propaganda –
- I will and probably you will also, never understand the propaganda of Human Right councils across the world. Because they are against hanging or encountering people who raped, murdered, became dons. They are of opinion that they should be given imprisonment and a chance to improve the life. The criminals are ‘Humans’ too. They need counselling etc. What about the life of demised or raped person? What about their families? Are they going to take care of their families? Are they going to feed their families? Best comment to this ‘human rights propaganda artist’ is, they will realize only when it happens to them. God forbid, but that’s the only and best comment.
- Recent example of war between Israel and Hamas. Everyone knows that this war was forced on Israel. 5k rockets were fired on Israel, few hundreds of kids were beheaded and burnt by Hamas but no Islamic countries condemn it. On the other hand, to defend itself, Israel had to attack Hamas, countries like Iran says, Israel is war criminal. Israelis are killing innocent people of Palestine. So many kids were killed, aged were killed etc. But where were they when Israel was under attack. Were you who fuelled this war? 67% population of Gaza (where Hamas and Palestine exist), where did they get money to buy rockets? Why didn’t they use it for their development and poverty eradication. Even if they will own the entire Israel land, what are they going to do out of it, only creating terror organisations, isn’t it? Israel holds atomic weapons, what if it will use it? Will remain in existence?Hamas are just pawn put forward for getting killed, but who is behind this? Of course, terror organisations, but how come a country like Iran, Türkiye, Pakistan supports Hamas? Does that mean these countries only want one religion across the world? Does that mean the other religions do not have the right to live? Please comment below what are your opinions.
- Chinese government’s puppet media Gobar Times (Global Times) is the only media that publishes any international and domestic affairs of China with the world. However, media cannot write independently. It has to write what Chinese govt. says. Therefore, none of China’s critical domestic issues, public anger, rage, natural calamities and real economic damage, force on religions and many more things never come out. Poverty is the topic exists with all the countries, but world will never get the accurate information about Chinese poverty. They will only show the best numbers, best quality and all splendid image of China. However, the same media, will try propaganda to narrate stories about other countries. In China, there isn’t a freedom of speech. All they have is false propaganda.
- Pakistan is a terrorist country. All knows that. Every day they try illegal infiltration in India. India responds to that and neutralize the terrorism and Pakistani pigs. Their propaganda is to bring human rights and try to convey message to the world about how India tortures Kashmiri people, how India is doing massacre in the region. How there is human rights violation in the Kashmir region happening daily. But the same Pakistan will hide the facts that they have many Interpol, RAW, MOSSAD declared terrorists. Osama Bin Laden was found in Pakistan. When USA received the information about Osama Bin Laden like man is seen in Pakistan, former president Mr. Obama, unlike many times before, did not inform Pakistan. Somewhere he had fear that Pakistan will alert Osama Bin Ladden and he will be taken to safe place and mission will fail. President took bold move and entered into territory of Pakistan and killed Osama. The next day, when asked to Pakistan government, they simply denied about the Osama’s information was with government. This was false propaganda of Pakistan, which the world never trusted.
- Pakistan played four wars with India. All four started by Pakistan. But never it won any battle. But their propaganda to their people is, ‘India started wars four times with Pakistan; and India did not win any’. The reality is, Pakistan lost all battles. In 1971 Bangladesh liberation war, east Pakistan (today’s Bangladesh) was cut off from Pakistan and liberated as new country called Bangladesh. In this battle, Pakistan’s 93 thousand soldiers surrendered in war without, unconditionally. Still Pak will create propaganda. Pakistan is such a terror country which will support any Muslim nation, even if that nation is misbehaving.
There are many more examples of nations or individuals using propaganda for their self-interest. They will never care of their own behavior, the consequences of propaganda, environmental & economical losses, losses of lives, losses of wealth etc.
