India and many countries around the world are victims of terrorism. Countries like Israel, continents like Europe, Africa, and Asia are the victims as well.
If we examine the situation closely, we can see that only a handful of countries are involved in terrorism. Pakistan is an epicentre of terrorism, without a doubt. Some Middle Eastern countries and some African countries are also into the terrorism business.
Countries like Somalia and Yemen are also considered dangerous. The reason is the location of these countries. They are pirates of the Arabian Sea. No doubt, the Indian army eliminates cowardly pirates every day. They eliminate the pirates and destroy the ships and boats they use in such operations. The whole world appreciates the same.
But have you ever thought about how terrorists get their strength? How do they obtain the necessary resources, including the weapon, funding, space to establish and operate, authority, training, knowledge, and courage?
In this blog, we will study some of the reasons why terrorism exists. I do not support terrorism in any way, absolutely, nor do I suggest ideas for strengthening it. This blog is purely to gain knowledge, and I am sure many of us already know how terrorists are gaining their strength.

Spreading Propaganda and False Commentary
Absolutely and without a doubt, if the government supports terrorism, terrorism will exist. On the contrary, without the support of the government, terrorists will hardly survive.
However, I cannot firmly say that terrorism only exists because of government support, because despite the government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism, terrorism may exist in countries because of the support of local people.
Kashmir is the best example over the last 100 years. India has taken numerous measures to eliminate terrorism in Kashmir and other parts of India. But the local and loyal people support terrorism. Such people will never treat India as their own country.
The unfortunate thing is, such people will enjoy the government measures’ subsidies, freebies, free education and everything that the government has to offer, but still will spew poison against the government.
Such people are
- either radical and loyal to other countries and religion,
OR
- are enemies in the house, house betrayers, and deceitful.
For example, we have a ‘peaceful radical’ community in India that will never loudly say that India is their country. They will never show patriotism. Instead, they will be loyal internationally to their religion only and can go to any extent to eliminate anyone other than their religion.
Such people will never accept India as their country.
The biggest irony is that the law says –
- that we have to accept such people,
- We cannot eliminate them,
- We cannot utter a word against them,
- We cannot snatch their rights to preserve true patriots’ rights
- We cannot take the law into our hands and do anything wrong, even if it will harm the entire country.
- Such a house betrayer will always speak anything against the country and open the secrets so the enemies will take advantage of the same.
I understand that oppositions, ordinary people, or a few media personnel occasionally question the government and hold it to account. However, in the event of an emergency, it is expected to stand with the country, not to open unnecessary fronts, thereby giving the enemy either a target or an escape route.
Not every situation is for playing politics. Sometimes, unity can defeat the enemy without even going to war.
The best example is the 9/11 attack on the USA. No US citizen challenged the US government over military action against the enemy. Everyone wanted revenge. So, their decision to eliminate the enemy itself gained the support of all the citizens. Simultaneously, very few countries questioned the US over the military action.
On the other hand, recently in April 2025, Pakistani terrorists attacked innocent tourists in Pehelgam in Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir state. All the proofs are against Pakistan. Within less than a week, the intelligence bureau found the information by intercepting the communication between Pakistan’s army and the terrorists. Even after presenting the evidence to the world, many domestic adversaries are questioning the validity of the proof itself. This has given Pakistan the advantage, and as usual, it has denied all the allegations and demanded an unbiased investigation by asking the UN to intervene and serve as a jury in this case.
This is precisely how enemies within the country act, and terrorism gets the chance to spread its operations. Most such enemies are politicians, greedy to rule the state or country, but aren’t getting the opportunity.
This clearly states the mentality of going to such an extent that they do not even bother to see if the country is breaking down or retreating while chasing the ruling chair.
I strongly feel that such snakes in the sleeve must be treated as enemies and terrorists themselves.
Asylum to Terrorist
- The main form of local support for terrorists is giving them temporary or permanent asylum in their houses or villages. Even if defence personnel carry out an intensive search operation, terrorists are hard to find. The local people immediately circulate communications so that the terrorists have time to hide.
- Some houses are built with a secret room behind a wardrobe, under the sofa, underground, or sometimes even under the roof. Terrorists take advantage of the same. Somewhere, somehow, local supporters will help terrorists hide in safer places.
- Sometimes, as the defence personnel turn after the search, these terrorists attack from behind and kill the country’s defence forces.
- Local supporters misguide the defence forces to save terrorists.
- Such supporters also bring the ready-made targets to the terrorist’s table. And then the terrorists brutally kill such targets. In Pahalgam, exactly this thing happened. The local “pony owners,” who offer pony rides for rent, took the tourists to a place that was prohibited for tourists. Then they gave the information to the terrorists, and the terrorists took advantage of the army not being in the place, and the support of local people to kill 28 innocent tourists. This has created panic all over the country, and there has been a boycott of tours to Kashmir.
- Just now, the Indian government tried pulling Kashmir up, but it looks like the locals do want money from India, but want their village to be in Pakistan.
- The obvious solution for such an incident is to eliminate such supporters. Still, the enemies within the country, including human rights groups, who often play the victim card, come forward to counter the government’s decisions and acts.
- It means that the supporters and the ‘enemies within’ clearly want terrorists to carry out their operations and narratives, but the country should not respond sternly.
- The ultimate aim of such radical ideology is to break the country into pieces, kill the people who do not follow their narratives and agenda, spread hatred and fear and rule in the way they want.
Joining Terrorism
- Local people are already familiar with the territory and the movements of defence and police forces. The terrorists take advantage of the same to make the local people radical by spreading false news and communal hatred. Sometimes, the false ‘victim stories’ (Stories that make locals believe that they are being victimised).
- Most of the time, religion is the main agenda to make local people radical and attack their own country.
- Sometimes, monetary support to locals forces them to choose the line of terrorism. But they do not understand the sin, the human rights of others and most importantly, the risk involved in getting eliminated by the country’s army or getting detained under judicial custody for almost a lifetime.
- Terrorists make false promises to locals, which attract or lure them to join terrorism. Fake promises like, after you kill the countrymen or soldiers, God will be happy and show mercy to them. They will get multiple beautiful angels in heaven who will serve them forever.
Attack By Locals
Courtesy ‘The Indian Express’
- After being radically, monetarily or otherwise, influenced by the locals, the locals start targeting the army, government officials and other locals who do not want to join them.
- Sometimes they attack with arms like guns (pistols, machine guns like AK-47), grenades, IED (Improvised Explosive Devices). And sometimes they attack with stones. Stone pelting is a common scenario across India where such radical people come together against the government of India, the army and the police.
- Unfortunately, even anti-India or anti-country activists cannot be neutralised, but only captured, due to three factors: law, human rights, and support for leaders. That’s the most significant disadvantage the country currently faces. How? Read the points below.
- If we keep them alive, they only get stronger and misunderstandings that the government is not strong and is helpless.
- If we only capture the supporters and leaders, they demand their release and pressurise the government to do so.
- Common factor is ‘human rights violation’. But at the same time, the supporters disregard the human rights of other common civilians. Thus, playing the ‘human rights’ victim card is dangerous for the country.
- Common people cannot retaliate because they have something to lose, such as a family, a job, a business, properties, reputation, investments, or a white-collar life. And most importantly, they do not have weapons and they do not accumulate to stand against such terrorist activities.
- Common people cannot do human shielding and weaponize the usual victim cards like poverty, minority community, castes, ladies, children, religion, anti-religion, etc.
- The most unprotected person in the world is the ‘common man’
- But the same common man gets power when they get together, show unity and resistance, and also, when an influential leader is with them.
Drug Supply
- Drugs are the easiest way to –
- capture the land without a war,
- weaken the civilians and the government,
- increase severe criminal activities
- money laundering,
- playing war without firing and losing people,
- earning huge money illegally and within a short period,
- destroying the original culture and imposing a new one, which will be a pro-drug peddling country.
- Destroying families by pushing them into poverty
- Making people join terrorism
- A huge problem is supplying drugs to the enemy’s economy. Drugs often destroy the economy because taxes are evaded, and the supplying country earns black money in foreign currency, especially when the supplier country’s currency is cheaper than the country to which they supply the drugs.
- Drugs can be used as a weapon to turn the locals to terrorism. By providing drugs either freely or at a much cheaper rate, terrorists bring local people to terrorism.
Local people’s earnings
- The majority of the time, the local left-wing political parties are seen supporting terrorism or the locals who are supporting terrorism. Either they want to destabilise the ruling government and try to take control of the country, or they have a vested interest in such a relationship.
- One of the best examples to support this is the recent one in India. When the current PM, Mr. Narendra Modi, after the terrorists’ attack and cowardly killing of 26 tourists in Pehalgam, Kashmir, India, decided to throw out of India the legal and illegal migrants and visitors from Pakistan and Bangladesh on any visa. Now, many speakers, public relations personnel, appointees, and politicians from the left party began opposing it. They put their views on what about the old people over 80 years, where can they go? What about those who had come to India to get medical treatment? What about those who had come to work in the TV and theatre industry? Art and Games do not have boundaries, so we should allow Pakistani actors and cricketers to participate in these events on a national level and let them earn as well.
- All such people will never even thank India for the benefits it provides. Such people will also comment on social media against India and will raise anti-India elements everywhere. They will not even condemn such terrorist activities and terrorism within Pakistan.
- Such people will only gain money and fame. Finally, such people will pay the tax to Pakistan, which it will use against India in terrorist activities.
- What are such people over 80 years old doing in India? Don’t they have their relatives in Pakistan?
- Did we owe anything to those who illegally and even legally entered India?
Such individuals utilise India’s resources but never demonstrate loyalty to the country, nor do they show any gratitude to India at all. So, what is the point of allowing them in India?
The left party’s point is on Humanitarian grounds. Can the left party go to Pakistan and stay there on any such humanitarian or other grounds?
Such migrated people, whether temporary or permanent, enjoy the resources of India and never want to leave because they are benefiting from the increased facilities and infrastructure available to them.
Yet without any gratitude, they start creating instability based on religion, minority victim cards, and human rights victim cards. Then, such people are the ones who give asylum to terrorists, and the whole cycle of terrorism begins again.
Conclusion
In this blog, we saw how local people support and run terrorist activities. Anyway, I do not mean that 100% of a particular area is supporting terrorism, but their name is indeed defamed by those who do it. Such local supporters are nonetheless than a snake in the pocket. They will eventually bite you.
Unloyal locals are those who are pushing their generations into such terrorist activities and creating hatred. All they want is to be in the mainstream and examine where their true interests lie.
If nothing works, then another peaceful way is to leave the country to their favourite and live without harming locals and supporting terrorism.
If even that solution doesn’t work, then there is always an Army to counter and eliminate such a mentality.
In the next blog, we will explore how the government and education system support terrorism and examine the countermeasures in place.
